LANSING – State Representative Vincent Gregory (D-Southfield) today applauded the Michigan Economic Growth Authority (MEGA) board for approving a High-Technology Employment Tax Credit for Research into Internet Systems (RIIS), LLC valued at over $1.5 Million, a move that will create over 300 new jobs.
"To hear RIIS is expanding and staying in our community is welcome news indeed," Rep. Gregory said. "I hope that other expanding companies take a good look at the incentives our state offers and decide to let their businesses grow here in Oakland County."
The Oakland County based company Research Into Internet Systems (RIIS), LLC, a software and applications development firm, will receive a High-Technology Employment Tax Credit that will help them expand their headquarters. The project is expected to generate $946,000 in new investment and create 95 new jobs, including 40 directly by the company. Michigan won this expansion project over competing sites in North Carolina and Ohio.
"Because of incentives offered to a number of growing industries, we are seeing companies expanding their operations here in Oakland County," Rep. Gregory said. "These companies give our residents good-paying jobs, as well as bringing dollars into our cities. I look forward to seeing what other interesting developments are in store for our community."
